Lawn Care & Landscaping Services in Fairfield, CA

Carlos, the owner, grew up in Fairfield. Here we look after the lawn, the sprinklers and the landscape lighting as one job, with every schedule set around heavy clay, a windy summer and the city’s ask to keep sprinklers off from noon to 6 pm.

Fairfield’s watering rules and rebates

From the City of Fairfield and the Solano County Water Agency (SCWA), which runs the rebates.

When can sprinklers run in Fairfield?

Before noon or after 6 pm.

The city asks customers not to water landscape between noon and 6 pm. It is a request, not a ban. Its advice: run between midnight and 6 am, lawns every 3 days in summer and every 5 in winter.

City of Fairfield · Checked Sep 2026

Sprinklers can run. Outside noon to 6 pm.

Can you keep a lawn in Fairfield?

Yes. A home lawn counts as functional turf.

The state’s ban on watering non-functional turf with drinking water covers commercial, industrial and institutional sites, not home yards.

Which rebates cover a smart controller or a lawn swap?

50% of a WaterSense weather-based controller, up to $300.

Lawn to garden: $1.50 a square foot, up to $1,500. Approval comes before any lawn comes out.

back from SCWA for 600 sq ft of lawn

$1.50 a sq ft, up to $1,500.

The run times we set stay out of the noon to 6 pm window. A lawn-to-garden swap gets drip under the new beds and starts only after SCWA approves it. You apply with SCWA, and the rebate is theirs to grant. Other towns’ rules are in our guide, watering rules by city.

Clay that cracks, and wind that bends the spray

Short cycles, and heads that land in the wind.

Fairfield’s valley floor is heavy clay that takes water slowly, cracks in August and puddles in January. Summer afternoons are windy, and the wind pushes spray onto the sidewalk.

So we water in short cycles with a soak between, fit heads that hold up in the wind and set weather-based controllers that adjust through the season, still clear of noon to 6 pm. Spring aeration helps the clay take water in. Valves, wiring and heads are on sprinkler repair in Fairfield. A system diagnostic tests each zone before we quote.

Fairfield clients who kept us on

The owner’s own crew, on a written plan.

Eco Scapes is based next door in Suisun City, and on Nextdoor it’s a Neighborhood Favorite in Rancho Solano. Allison Wong and Aldo Rangel hired Eco Scapes for a cleanup and kept them for maintenance. Lawn care & maintenance puts the lawn, the beds and the irrigation under them on one schedule, and what’s agreed is written down first.

…show up on time, do the job right, and keep things simple.

Before you call.

  • Yes.

The City of Fairfield counts turf in individual home yards as functional turf. The state's ban on watering non-functional turf with drinking water targets commercial, industrial and institutional sites, not home lawns. The city still asks customers not to water landscape between noon and 6 pm. Checked Sep 2026.

  • Aerate in spring, seed in fall.

Core-aerate while the grass is actively growing, and skip the summer heat. UC's turf guidance says heavy clay soils, like Fairfield's valley floor, need it a couple of times a year. Tall fescue and other cool-season grass go in in fall, after the heat breaks.

  • Wind and clay, once a broken head is ruled out.

Summer afternoons here are windy, which pushes spray off target, and the clay of the valley floor sheds water it can't take in. Check for a broken or tilted head first. The lasting fix is heads matched to the wind, short soak cycles and drip in the beds.
